First of all, last night was Pride Mixer night, which is when we're supposed to be attracting new members, but it is basically just another opportunity for current members to get together and drink, like we need an excuse (if the day ends in Y, then we can drink). So, long story short, I was moving slowly this morning.
Two minutes after I walk in the door for work, one of the detectives in the other building comes over and says the fire alarm is going off, which I think is odd because it is only in one part of the building and I'm not getting a call from our security company. Weird. Then that alarm ends, and the alarm goes off in my building. WTF? I haven't even had coffee yet! So, I make a call, and I find out our idiot maintenance man decided today was the day to test the alarms and he wasn't going to tell anyone. Seriously! It's like Mr. Burns deciding he's going to fuck with battered women. Nice. Oh, btw, this fucktard was just awarded our "Employee of the Month" award. My ass!
On top of that, my calendar system that I implemented on the IndyPride site has decided to malfunction, and may or may not be infecting my computer with a virus. Yes, kids.. Is it too early to start drinking again?
So anyway, I'm turning to music (and more coffee) to sooth my fevered brow:
Lady GaGa - Just Dance
Dear lord, I love this song, even if the video makes me want to take a shower.
Kerli - Walking on Air
This song has popped up quite a few times on my Yahoo Jukebox at work, and I don't know what it is about it. It just drills into your head. Entertainment Weekly reviewed the video last week, which made me seek it out, and it is just very weird and hypnotic, too. I think there are some Halloween ideas in there.
Jon McLaughlin - Beating My Heart
Just because I want to show of my new husband again, and the song is actually pretty good.
