Monday, July 16, 2007 (Second Post)

Saturday morning, I leave Tyler's place, and I go home, gather up my laundry and head out to my parent's house. My parent's are out of town with my sister and my nieces taking in the sights of Chicago. I could have gone along, but with the way work is, I really couldn't take the time off. Plus, if you've ever been to the American Girl store, you would know why I didn't jump at the chance to go. American Girl dolls are what I call "Dolls of the Damned." They have those scary possessed eyes that follow you around the room. No the picture is not an American Girl doll, but that is what they look like in my mind's eye.

So, anyway, I needed to go out to my parent's house and feed their bird and do some laundry. For much of my adult life, I have done my laundry at my parent's house. Yes, I know. I'm 32. I should either go to the laundromat or have my own freaking washer and dryer, but I also think of all the money I have saved...bite me! :) I cyberstalk Tyler for a bit, but then I fall dead asleep on my parent's couch. I guess I must have been tired from the previous night's non-sexual exertions, or I'm just an old fart.

As I mentioned before, I was planning on going to Louisville with Blanch and Romeo to go out to a cool bar there called The Connection. Louisville is close enough that we can drive down and back in a night, and plus, I wanted to break in the new car. I mentioned to Tyler that we were going, and he was to get back with me to let me know if he wanted to tag along. Thankfully, he decided to go. So, I got to hang out another night with him.

It is always rather sketchy to bring "fresh meat" into my group of friends. I've addressed before how hard it is for people to come up to speed with us, and that is without the added stress of flirting with me. I would normally wait a few weeks of dating someone before throwing them to the wolves, but I really wanted to see Tyler again. Plus, I figured he could handle it. Romeo wasn't exactly pleased to be traveling with a stranger, but I talked him off the ledge. :) Tyler was pretty quiet on the way down, but it can be hard to break into our repartee. I think we all had a pretty good time. Connections has changed a bit since we were there at New Years, and I can't say the changes are for the better. It is still someplace I'd like to visit on occasion. It is just something different. Plus, it is rather comical that one of the largest and best gay bars is in northern Kentucky.

We didn't end up getting back into Indy until after 6am. I can safely say I am way too old for that to happen too much. Blanch had to take over driving because I was so exhausted, which meant that Tyler and I got to sleep in the backseat. Bonus! :) He ended up staying at my place, and we slept until after 1pm. I'm really feeling a great connection with him. It is kind of extraordinary after all these years. I honestly do not know where this is going. I obviously do not want to push him into anything, since he was with someone for seven years. On the flip side, we've kind of already planned things into September....kind of incongruous for guys taking it slow. We'll see. :) With work being so bad right now, it is kind of nice to have things going well in the friends and personal life spheres. I'm not going to do anything to rock the boat.
