Somewhere around 9:00 last night, I stopped wishing for the sweet release of death and actually started feeling better. I still have some residual throat scratchiness, but it is nothing that is terrible to deal with. I set my alarm to get up at 5:30, but since I still tossed an turned a bit, I hit the snooze until 7:17. Thank god for flexible hours!
This is the second week of hell month for me at work, and after getting calls on both Saturday and Sunday about system problems, I really wasn't ready to face the week. Of course, as soon as I walk in the door, there is something else wrong, though it's actually part of what was wrong yesterday that I didn't catch, but hey, I was sick. Sue me! Anyway, after all that, I'm settling in with my cup of caffeinne, and now I discovered the monthly bane of my existence (no, not my period) sitting in my inbox. Taxi Slips! See, as part of the services we provide to clients, we authorize use of taxis for important trips that are either emergencies or outside the scope of the bus system. Every month, as part of my Grant Compliance duties, I have to reconcile these buggers. It SUCKS! It will probably take me most of today and tomorrow to get it done. The good thing though is that once they're done, I can get all my monthly reporting done, and I can start on the quarterly and annual stuff. So, I suppose this could easily be considered the halfway point.
Pray for me :) or boogie dance or something...
