Last night was pretty uneventful. Since I was still feeling a little sick, I decided that it was going to be too much to bike to the gym. I know, lazy ass. So, I pretty much just stayed around the apartment and tried to stay cool. Monday television is terrible even by summer standards, but I found myself entertained in a perverse way by Gordon Ramsey on Hell's Kitchen. It's so obvious he is trying WAY too hard to be an asshole. Oh, I also watched Days of Our Lives. Yes, I've been sucked back into soap operas. I think I need my head examined.

I woke up this morning feeling very good. The throat pain is completely gone, and I got a relatively good night's sleep, which is good because I have a shitload of work to get done today. I have six reports that I need to get done by Friday/Monday, and that will leave me with 5-7 more that need to be done by the end of the month. It is pretty incomprehensible to me that someone would actually set out to do stuff like this for a career. Talk about an absolutely mind numbing time... Yes, I hate this portion of my job.

Anyway, now that I am feeling better and a month out from the next trip to Chicago, I am starting to focus more on fitness goals. I had pretty much maintained a high protein and mostly limited carbs diet (except for morning oatmeal with a spoon of peanut butter), but I've decided to completely shake that up. The diet was good if I wanted to maintain my weight, but I still feel like I need to shave at least 5 more pounds off. I think tweaking the diet, riding my bike, and lifting as hard as I was lifting last week before I fell ill will really knock my body back into the shape that it was, which is going to be doubly important if winter kills my routine again this year. Yes, I just mentioned winter in July...it's 90 outside. Maybe it is reverse psychology... :)

Oh well, off to report stuff....I really wish the caffeine would brew faster! TGIT, at least I get to go out with the boys tonight and baste my liver for a little bit. :)
