Second Post - Is it Just Me?

Another installment of my not so regular series:

Is it just me, or if you were the object of this person's affections from the local "Missed Connections" on Craigslist, would you absolutely NOT respond? (I have made no alterations)

Is it just me...?, part 2

So soon? Yes....

Is it just me...or do you think you, you real woman of genius, would actually MOVE the f*cking telephone cords out of the way when you decided it was a good idea to vacuum around the front desk, so that you might not, I don't know, YANK the wiring right out of the wall when said cords get sucked into the vacuum?

Not only does this mean a call to our wiring vendor, but since it is almost Friday afternoon and I have never been able to get the vendor out day of in the past, we'll have to go the entire f*cking weekend with only ONE phone at a 24 hour front desk.

Athena...to the BEER...NOW!

Is it just me...?

Woo hoo...new feature!

-Is it just me...or would anyone else rather get poked in they eye repeatedly by a red hot poker than sit through even a commercial of The Love Guru?

Self-Explanatory...to steal from [Cherry]: F*ck You, Mike Meyers!

-Is it just me...or did Britney Spears' brother just totally slam her?

I was perusing People magazine while I checked on my vacationing parent's house yesterday and fed their ancient parakeet (11 years old...no joke). There was a summer bachelor's section, so of course, I had to check it out, and a newly buffified Brother Spears said that the two things that turn him off in women are "too much make-up" and "smoking." Sounds like someone near and dear to him, doesn't it? (of course, I realize he shouldn't be turned on by his sister, but heck, they are from Louisiana)

-Is it just me...or if running were fun, everyone would be doing it?

I HATE running. I mean, it is right up there with Joseph Stalin and Keith Washington (for you Indy folks...or maybe I should say Idi Amin, since KW hasn't killed anyone...that we know of), but for some reason, since I was sick on Tuesday, I have just not had the wherewithal to go lift at the gym. Since I didn't really eat (or keep) anything on Monday and most of Tuesday, I splurged on an all the meats pizza and cheesesticks from Papa John's on Tuesday night. So, even post-food poisoning, which is a person with an eating disorder's wet dream this side of a tape worm, I was feeling like a fat ass and forced myself to run the steps at the War Memorial 10 times on Wednesday night. To add insult to injury, I made myself go on a run last night, too. Of course, I go to weigh myself this morning, and I am at my lowest weight of the summer. Goddammit! It means I'll have to run more!

-Is it just me...or does Idiot Indiana make it too easy to justify the point of this blog?

Look, I know a lot of people have this idea of a Hoosier as some sort of uneducated, slack jawed yokel, which is why, I hope, I do something to counteract that notion. However, sometimes even I come across stories that make me question the enormity of my task. One of the first, since I have been blogging, was the case of the Fort Wayne bomb scare that ended up being a turnip. Another one, from this week even, would be the the story of the Terre Haute guy who robbed the 11 year old girl's lemonade stand, only to be chased down by the girl and blockaded in his house until the police arrived (TRY...getting cred in prison on that one, bud), but the next one, oh boy:

W. Lafayette buys large anti-stench fan

West Lafayette officials have bought a device they hope will mask the stench from the city's wastewater treatment plant during Saturday's Taste of Tippecanoe festival.

The festival takes place along the Wabash River, not far from the plant.

Wastewater treatment utility director David Henderson says the $1,700 machine consists of a large fan that blows a vanilla-scented odor. He also plans to add odor-control chemicals to the treatment plant's lagoon.

Taste of Tippecanoe festival director Scott Freeman says he understands the utility is doing everything it can to reduce foul smells.

Henderson says the odor has been noticeable because equipment used to break down solid waste is being renovated.

-----------

Which begs the question:

-Is it just me...or does a $1700 glorified Glade Scented Oil Fan NOT seem to be enough to mask the entire shit load of a community, which oddly enough is home to Purdue University (PU..natch)?
