Friday, May 9th - Whoa

***Update***hhmmmm, my mother just told me there is a "Nurse Hottie" male nurse who works in the evenings. I may need to go up there again during those visiting hours! :)***

Yeah, so, I apologize for the emotional belly flop that I took in the blog yesterday, but I really needed to vent. I appreciate the kind thoughts I received via comments and other avenues. I was at the hospital when the neurologist did his consult and the anesthesiologist stopped by to check on her, and they are of the mind that her current incoherent state is just caused by her body not being able to process through all the drugs and chemicals that have been thrown at her in the past couple days. While there is a possibility there has been a stroke, they're going to wait a day or so to see if there is any improvement before doing a CAT scan or anything further.

I sat with her for about 90 minutes yesterday until she finally fell asleep. I read to her from The Hobbit, not so much because I thought she could hear me but it kept me from just sitting there in the hospital room feeling helpless.

Okay, enough of that!

This weekend is going to be jam packed, as is the problem with many a weekend going forward. I am stage managing Metro Idol for Yoplait, who typically runs karaoke but wants to just be Ryan Seacrest for this event. So, I'll be backstage with all the contestants making sure they get on stage on time and don't do anything stupid that will make me eject them immediately. It is a two night affair, so Friday and Saturday night are gone for me, and then Sunday is Mother's Day/My Birthday with the fam. So, I'm really going to need a cocktail by the time Sunday night rolls around. Somewhere in there, I'm going to have to find time to shop for Mom, too. Oy!

For the weekend, I leave you with a Hamster Moment of Zen:

OK. So go visit your grandmother at night and take a camera! Make up some story about why you need a good pic of him.
