many many meetings, it is finally time for the kick off of Circle City IN Pride 2008!The Skate Committee (Blanche, Romeo, Marmaduke, and myself) is kicking off the weekend with a mini-Bag Lady type tour of most of the bars in town to promote the Pride Skate '08, which is coming up on Sunday evening. We'll be going to (solidly for some and tentatively for others): Olly's, Metro, English Ivy's, Talbott Street, Cosmos, Illusions, The Varsity, The 10, Greg's, and 501. We're going to be joined at some point by Agnes and The Mayor dressed up as Dorothy and the Wicked Witch to promote a sing along showing of The Wizard of Oz for the LGBT Film Festival on Monday. It should be an interesting time.
Starting tomorrow night, the real stuff begins to happen. This is what my schedule is going to be like next week.
Saturday: Human Rights Campaign and the Indiana Fever (WNBA) - a game and an HRC sponsored reception
Sunday: Pride Picnic in the afternoon, and then the Pride Skate at 6:30
Monday: (Work) The Wizard of Oz sing along for the LGBT (Final Pride Planning Committee Meeting, too)
Tuesday: (Work) Big Gay Band Concert, tailgating, and Karaoke
Wednesday: (Work) Town Hall Meeting to discuss a proposed Community Center project and Bag Lady Calendar Kickoff
Thursday: (Off) Americorp sponsored Fashion Show benefiting the Indiana AIDS Fund
Friday: (Off) Loading of materials and festival setup. "A Night to Share" benefiting the Indiana Youth Group
Saturday: Pride Parade & Festival with Kristine W as the entertainment headliner
Sunday: Recovery and Tea Dance at the Metro
Whew....I'm tired already. Of course, I'll be updating throughout the week, but I will be getting progressively busier. So, don't hold me to it!
