Friday, April 25th - Friday Diagnosis and Hodgepodge

Since the end of the Pennsylvania Primary cycle and the beginning of the Indiana one, it has been interesting to me how much the belligerent Obama fans have begun to visit my blog with their advanced cases of Clinton Derangement Syndrome (CDS).

Symptoms:
  • Irrational fear that Bill, Hillary, or even Chelsea is waiting around the corner ready to jump out and scream "Oooga Booga"
  • Thoughts that "Clinton" and "Satan" are interchangeable words
  • Prone to making absurd assumptions and proclamations based on the above symptoms
I appreciate all your efforts to try and infect me with CDS, but I have to tell you. I've seen and heard everything you can throw at me, and I appear to be immune. So, welcome to the blog, rational discourse is always welcome, but you're wasting your breath if you think I'm going to have some sort of deathbed conversion towards St. Barack.

Moving along to non-political stuff...
  • Fitness - I am into the second week of my new routine, and I have to say I'm enjoying it as much as the first one. Since there are more sets and no wiggle room on the number of reps, I spent the first week with lower weights to make sure I could get through the entire routine. So, this week I have been adding in more weight where I can, and even though I have two more days, I am very happy with what I have been able to accomplish. I'm firming up pretty well, and it might just be time to break out some sleeveless shirts soon. We'll see. I am still disappointed with the weight loss aspect of my endeavor, but I know I have to be patient. As long as I feel better in my clothes, I know I am doing well. I'm just not going to win Mean Girls Biggest Loser.
  • Dining Out for Life - Last night the Mean Girls (Romeo, Blanche, Maestro, and myself) met up with Mom for Dining Out for Life (or Dining out for Live, as the typo on the donation envelope indicated). Dining Out for Life is a nationwide program where restaurants will donate a portion of their profits for the day to a local HIV/AIDS charity, which in this case is The Damien Center in Indianapolis. It's probably one of the easiest ways to be philanthropic, and we aim to do it every year. We went to The Adobo Grill, which is a new restaurant in Indy. They were the only one giving 50% of their food and alcohol profits to the cause. Silly people....we could drink The Damien Center into permanant solvancy! The food and drink was great, and when I get some time this weekend, I plan to do a review over at the Mean Girls Blog.
  • Family - I have my neice's First Communion on Sunday, which means counting Christmas, I will actually be setting foot in a church twice in the calendar year of 2008. If you feel a rumble and a peel of thunder, you'll know I've been smoten. (wow, that actually passed spell check)
I think that's all for now. I hope everyone has a great weekend. I plan on doing some gardening tomorrow. I still need to plan my offensive in the War with the Neighbors.

I went to Athens on 86th last for dining out for life. It was amazing, but only was donating 25%. :( Next year hubby and I will have to tag along with The Mean Girls!

The more the merrier! The good thing is that I'm pretty sure Adobo is planning a location downtown. So, it'll be much more convenient (for me anyway).

I'm not a huge Mexican food fan, but everything was pretty awesome there.

I keep meaning to try Athens. However, I'm so in love with Santorini, that I'm afraid every Greek restaurant might not live up to that standard.

I passed by your humble abode yesterday and must say ... the neighbors are winning by a long shot right now.

Yea I have to agree with Athena on this one. It's not really war it's more like a slaughter and you are getting the ass end of it.

Oh bite it. You really shouldn't plant stuff until there is no threat of frost, and it is supposed to get down in the 30s this weekend. I'd rather let them think they're winning than move everything inside everynight.

:-P

I knew it. You ARE the reason the earth is rumbling in the Midwest.

BTW...I rec'd an email yesterday from someone that has either picked up on the fact that I am supporting Hillary. They either got it from reading my blog, my comments on your blog or one of several others. The sender is definitely pro-Obama.

I have saved and I am thinking about composing an intellectual reply or just ignoring it. Right I'm thinking of just ignoring it. The nerve of some people. :-)

Well, Timmy, dear, if you want me to comment on the letter, let me know. :-)

I'll stand by you!
