Friday, January 18, 2008 - A Quickie Second Post

1/19/08 Update - Okay...maybe I'm a bit off. :-) We'll see. I'll blog about it on Monday.

Okay, I just want to jot this down, and if it happens, then I'll expound upon it on Monday. If it doesn't, well, I'll explain why I thought it would happen, or I might just delete it from the national consciousness.

Prediction: John Edwards will surprise everyone and win the Nevada Caucus.

(Trust...I do NOT want this to happen...I just have a gut feeling that we're in for a surprise)

Well, I said at the last one I might have a political one to post today. I did. I could have let it wait, but what is the point of making a prediction AFTER it happened. :) At least this way, if I'm right, I look like the next Karl Rove. If I'm wrong, then I look like the next Karl Rove.

Well, I never liked Edwards at any point in 2004, and frankly, I felt when Kerry picked him the ticket went from bad to worse. I held my nose and voted for them, but everytime I see him on TV now, I get the taste of bile in my mouth.

He just seems to be so pandering and disingenuous. The vitriol that he continues to throw at Hillary because she will not completely renounce her vote for the war is really just intellectually embarrassing. Hillary has said, "If I knew then what I know now..." and that is a sufficient answer. At the time, the evidence was there. It was proven false. To try and rewrite history and reject what you believed to be an educated decision is really more of a disastrous commentary on Edwards than it is an indictment of Hillary. In the Nevada debate, I counted 4 times that Edwards "regretted" votes that he made in the short 6 years that he was a Senator. I'm all for self-analyzation, but at point does changing your mind change from "noble" to flip-flopping?
