To cleanse my literary palate from Twilight, I started reading Marion Zimmer Bradley's The Mists of Avalon. It has been sitting on my shelf since 2001, when the TNT mini-series came out, but I have never gotten around to reading it. It is certainly a tougher read, and it is the longest book I have attempted since the slog that was Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell. So cross your fingers...
Anyway, the point of this post is to talk about my new television obsession of Whatever, Martha!, which is basically Martha Stewart's daughter, Alexis, and her friend, Jennifer Hutt, sitting around and making fun of archival Martha Stewart footage - Mystery Science Theater style! Sure, Martha is in on the joke, but the show is absolutely hilarious! I watched it after succumbing to the incessant commercials on HGTV. It is on the Fine Living Network on Tuesdays and Wednesday, and oddly, the clips I have below for "Face Painting" and "Painting the Porch" are on the two shows tonight. For me though, the funniest part of the show is when Alexis and Jennifer try to keep up with Martha while doing crafts. Check it out!
