Friday, August 29 - Friday Hodge Podge

I've been crazy busy with non-work related stuff lately, which is why I haven't been blogging on a regular basis. The good news is that I am done with the invite for The Grande Masquerade, which takes a lot of stress off of me (wait, not completely done, but I haven't heard from the printers yet this morning, so I'm hoping that is a good sign). Which really only leaves the Pride website for me to get out the door, and I would love to get that done next week. I'm not really sure why I have been so blocked about this, but I do think it is coming to an end. I have all the organizational and navigational stuff done, and now I just need to sit down and actually make the pages. I just hope I can get all of the text together, because I would hate to sit here with a brand new site full of nothing (you know...kinda like the old site)!

Anyway, week one of the new/old diet has progressed pretty easily. The worst part has been giving up coffee, but I have noticed a general uptick in my energy level just because I am consuming so much more food. Of course, this means I really do need to get into a regular gym schedule soon, which is proving to be more difficult that I had hoped. I'm confident that I'll get back on track, and I'm declaring September the month of the workout. I'm going to force myself to do something physical almost every day, and the fact that this is Labor Day weekend, will help immensely.

Finally, I'm intrigued by John McCain's choice for VP, Sarah Palin. While I'm certainly not looking to switch my vote, I think this does take a bit of the wind out of the OBiden sails. Will this attract the soccer moms of old? Does this establish the maverick cred we all scoff about with McCain? Time will tell. All I can say is that this has been the most theatrical presidential election in a very long time, and I am happy for it.

Have a safe holiday weekend!
