Saturday, June 7th - Circle City IN Pride Eve

I normally do not post on weekends, which leads to extremely long posts on Monday, and since the next 8 days are all wall to wall Pride, I decided I will do small daily updates.

Last night, the Pride Skate Committee (Blanche, Romeo, Marmaduke, and myself) planned to hit every gay bar and restaurant in town to pass out palm cards to promote the skate, which is tomorrow (eep!). I figured last night, through the course of our promotion, I've made over 1000 cards, and we've handed most of them out. Of course, the majority probably end up in the circular file, but at least, we can't say we haven't promoted the hell out of this thing. On top of cards and posters, Circle City IN Pride cross promotion, NapTown Roller Girls promotion, and even a mention in the local alternative newspaper, I will hope that we have a much bigger turn out from last year. I'm trying to keep my expectations low, but I'm pretty confident it will be a success.

Last night was pretty exhausting. I was able to get a nap in, but I still wasn't really feeling like a barrel of monkeys like everyone else was. At the Hoosier 250 Race, we took to wearing wacky hats to promote our Committee, and everyone wanted to do it again. I was felling like Mr. Grumpy Pants, so I fought it the whole time. That mixed with walking up and talking to people about the Skate AND being sober to drive everyone around, I really was kind of in a mood to just stand back and let the others do the work. Once we got to Metro though, which was the next to last stop, I was able to get some cocktails in me, and I was feeling much more socially lubricated.

All and all, it was a good time, and tonight, we're (probably....not 100% on it yet) going to an Indiana Fever game, then out again. The weather SUCKS today. So, I am incredibly unmotivated to do anything.
