Tuesday, February 12th - Snow

Once again, the meteorologists claim gloom and doom. At 6:00 last night, they said we were going to get 4-7 inches of snow, but as the night wore own, they kept teasing "revised snow amounts at 11." Then we got to 11, and there's only going to be a dusting.

I know that predicting the weather is pretty hit and miss, but it just seems like this year there has been a lot of crying wolf. I know that one of these days they're going to predict something to be lower, and then we're going to be walloped. One would think that with Super Duper Doppler VIPER 3001 they would at least be able to tell us if weather Armageddon is upon us. Is that too much to ask?

Since it was supposed to snow today, let us celebrate the cuteness of polar bear cubs:


And then, let us contemplate that the Bush Administration is hesitant to put Polar Bears on the endangered species list because that would be admitting that global warming and the melting of the ice caps is a reality.

This isn't even fair. I want to join Greenpeace now. Polar bears are cuter than pandas and they don't seem to have the same boudoir awkwardness.
