Yes yes yes, I know I said I was going to take a break from political blogging for a minute, but I stumbled on the American Independent Party website. I could NOT resist.
I realize that maybe some people out there might not be happy with their two party choices, and it just so happens that there are a whole host of possible candidates out there for you to (waste your) vote on. The American Independent Party is a party that currently has three candidates to choose from.
To muddy the waters even more, they are the California offshoot of the Constitution Party. Hey, if you're going to win, you might as well make your name something different from the national party.
Presidential Candidates:
- "Mad Max" Rieske - http://madmaxforpresident.com/ - First off, I don't know about you, but do you really want to call yourself "Mad" when you're running in a futile bid for the presidency? Also, please take into consideration that his home city is "Fruitpoint, MI." Fruit...indeed. I also notice that he is running for president in 2008 AND 2012, which I think might be a threat. I suppose he's saving money on the stationary and business cards by running in both cycles, but it kinda negates everything when you lose in the first date. Ya know, John Edwards didn't print up signs for 2004 & 2008.
From his website (with my comments):
MM = Mad Max (thanks, I might have confused you for a hard shelled chocolate confection); Order you (this is his typo) MM bumper sticker and MM book when they come out (when?). Get the MM word out; rase (again, his typo) money locally and fund your own highway billboards, yard signs, radio and TV ads, etc (Hmmm...I have to do it myself?). You can do it (I guess so); not just for Mad Max for President, but for our country (Well, thank god); and know this, you will not agree with MM 100% (or at ALL), but what you see and read is the real thing.
- Diane Beall Templin - http://www.myspace.com/diane4president - Poor, Diane. She seems to have even less funds than "Mad Max." Instead of hosting her own website, she has opted to just have a MySpace page. The poor dear only has 4 friends, including Tom, who is everyone's number #1 friend when they first sign up. Now, Hillary has almost 179,000 friends, just for referrence. Also, one of her friends is a Clark Christ, who is running for Congress in California. Hmmm, I wonder if he's related to Jesus (more on that in a minute). Though considering that another one of her friends has a Satanism FAQ on his MySpace page, well, the power of Christ compels you!
Since she doesn't have much in a way of platform on her site, let's look at her interests:
General: Dancing, Music, Ocean (assuming not all at once)
Music: Ballroom, Swing, Old Jazz (Has Dancing with the Stars had a washed up 3rd Party Candidate yet, Blanche?)
Movies: Sophie's Choice (....)
Books: Gone with the Wind, Torah, Bible (.... um .... )
Heroes: Jesus, John, My Daughter, Founding Fathers, and Dr. Clark (that explains the Bible)
Finally, back to Clark Christ. He is the only one who has bothered to comment on her page, but I am not linking to his MySpace, because it will make my blog feel dirty. Here is his comment: (I have no comments....seriously)
Sex and marriage with robots? It could happen
Robots soon will become more human-like in appearance, researcher says Humans could marry robots within the century. And consummate those vows.
"My forecast is that around 2050, the state of Massachusetts will be the first jurisdiction to legalize marriages with robots," artificial intelligence researcher David Levy at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands told LiveScience. Levy recently completed his Ph.D. work on the subject of human-robot relationships, covering many of the privileges and practices that generally come with marriage as well as outside of it.
At first, sex with robots might be considered geeky, "but once you have a story like 'I had sex with a robot, and it was great!' appear someplace like Cosmo magazine, I'd expect many people to jump on the bandwagon," Levy said. The idea of romance between humanity and our artistic and/or mechanical creations dates back to ancient times, with the Greek myth of the sculptor Pygmalion falling in love with the ivory statue he made named Galatea, to which the goddess Venus eventually granted life.
This notion persists in modern times.
(I have nothing to add....)
- Don Grundmann - http://www.truthusa.org/ - I think this one may be my favorite. His slogan is "Take The Red Pill," as in, The Matrix. He considers the United States to be the Matrix, and it is all wrapped up in the homosexual agenda. Ahhh...I love these kooks! As if basing his entire platform on the fictional Matrix isn't enough, he also buys into such crazy things about how the damage to the Pentagon on 9/11 could not have been entirely caused by a jet, and he links to a wonderful article called" 'God is Dead,' Now We’ll Create Our Global Village -or- Why Christians are Mentally Ill." I tell ya...this makes me appreciate Mike Huckabee!
So anyway, this may become a series, as I stumble upon more wonderful third party candidates!
