This blog will be a bit different. The first post will be at the bottom, and it will move up.
11:46 - CNN is calling Colorado for Obama. Obama is spouting his empty rhetoric....I mean, giving his speech right now.
11:42 - MSNBC is calling Arizona for Clinton, and McCain is kissing Huckster's ass right now.
11:26 - MSNBC calls Missouri for Clinton. It's pretty close though. I think it could still switch.
11:21 - I am about to take some NyQuil and call it a night. The current delegate split between Clinton and Obama 546-594, but Arizona, Cali, and Alaska are still to come. It is going to take a few days to get the real delegate count. I will still post if I haven't passed out.
11:11 - CNN calls Minnesota for Romney
11:09 - Isn't it past Lou Dobb's bedtime? Oh wait, vampires come out at night.
11:05 - Missouri has still not been called for either party, and Arizona is still too close to call on the Dems, though Hill has an 11 point lead.
11:03 - California is too close to call on both sides. MSNBC calls Arizona for McCain, but it took a little while considering it is his home state. Interesting. Romney takes North Dakota.
10:59 - One of the more interesting stories today have been the major differences in the SUSA and Zogby polls in California. I've alluded to the Zogby controversy earlier, but over at DailyKos, they have an analysis over which group has been more accurate. SUSA is dead on, Zogby has been pretty way off. SUSA had Clinton taking California 53-41, and Zogby had Obama winning 49-36. It'll be interesting to see if SUSA keeps up the good work.
10:56 - Hmmm..."I will not let anyone, Swift Boat American's future." This is a big argument against Obama because he has gotten such a free ride from the press. What will happen when it is just him? MSNBC is calling the Idaho and Minnesota Caucuses for Obama. It really paid off to educate people about the caucus system.
10:50 - We're a little less than 10 minutes until Cali closes, and I have to say I'm winding down. They are not going to call it for a long time, and I won't be staying up for it. I'll be up for a little while. Oh...here's Hill!
10:44 - Woo Hoo! Clinton wins American Samoa! Eat it, Barack, Eat it! :) Well, it is 2 delegates to Obama's 1...every little bit helps!
10:41 - MSNBC calls Georgia for the Huckster. Man, the Repubs are so screwed!
10:32 - Oy, I cannot stand Mitt Romney's speaking style...blah
10:27 - MSNBC calls Connecticut for Obama. That has to hurt Clinton. It also shows Obama's gaining strength in the white vote.
10:26 - MSNBC have called the Kansas Caucus for Obama. Once again, Obama spent a lot of time on the caucus states, teaching people how to do it. So, these are no great surprises.
10:08 - Huckster is talking now. I guess maybe he has evolved in this race...much to the chagrin of Jesus.
10:05 - MSNBC is calling Utah for Obama. It is now 6 states apiece so far tonight. The delegate count is 277 Clinton and 250 Obama.....wow, close!
10:03 - MSNBC calls the North Dakota Caucus for Obama. I really think Caucus states muddy the waters. They should all be straight up primaries.
10:00 - MSNBC is calling Utah for Romney. Not a big shocker considering the concentration of Mormons and his involvement in the Salt Lake City Olympics.
9:49 - CNN just called New Jersey for Hillary, corroborating Fox from 9:12.
9:47 - CNN is just now calling Massachusetts for Clinton. Jeesh, what's the hold up? We're getting storms here, sirens and everything. So, if this is my final entry, I may be in Oz with Dorothy.
9:37 - MSNBC has called Alabama for Obama. I'm not really sure why they waited so long. Obama was widely ahead since the first projection.
9:20 - Since we have a lull right now, I want to comment on this whole issue of proportional delegate assignment. I have to say I am torn about it. The Repubs have a lot more winner take all contests, which makes it pretty easy for someone to get all the delegates. However, the Democrats have this weird proportional system where it comes down to congressional district. So, someone who gets the 60% of the vote in a district, will get 60% of the delegates. It obviously makes things interesting when there are like 3 delegates. I know that is oversimplifying, but there it is. Anyway, my big problem with it is that someone could win the majority of the state's popular vote, but they might not win the majority of the delegates. How is that any different the 2000 Presidential Election where Al Gore got the popular vote but lost the Electoral College?
9:19 - CNN calling NY for McCain
9:12 - Fox just called NJ for Hillary, but I only know that because Blanche texted it to me. I will not defile my TV to go to that station.
9:02 - MSNBC calls Delaware for Obama
9:00 - MSNBC calls New York for Hillary. No big shock...
8:57 - MSNBC calls Massachusetts for Clinton. This is an interesting one, just because John Kerry and especially Teddy Kennedy came out for Obama. Plus, Governor Duval Patrick is an African-American, who is for Obama as well. I am sure they were hoping to pick this one up since this is a traditional liberal stronghold, but I think Obama is going to have to be happy with Minnesota. Suck it Ted!
8:46 - CNN Calls Delaware for McCain
8:42 - I am making Cinnamon Bread (yes, from scratch). Anybody want some?
8:41 - Connecticut is interesting. If Obama wins that, it could be a bright spot for him since it is pretty much a suburb of NYC.
8:37 - Commentary: While Obama has two big wins in Georgia and Illinois, I think the interesting story is what is growing out around Arkansas. Hillary now hows a win in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee, which all border each other. If she can swing Alabama and the big prize of Missouri, then I think this is a very good boost for her. This is fun! It is like the Super Bowl, only I actually give a damn about it.
8:30 - No big surprise. Hillary and Mike Huckabee are declared the winners in Arkansas. She was, of course, First Lady, and Huckabee was Governor.
8:20 - MCNBC just called Tennessee for Hillary.....with 0% of the vote in. Seriously folks....this is weird.
8:15 - So, I was just perusing my new favorite website MyDD.com, and there was an interesting blog on there about John Zogby, who is a major pollster out there. The Zogby poll today has Obama killing Clinton in Cali, but as it turns out, Zogby is a major Obama supporter and a Obama SuperDelegate. Wow...this is change?
8:11 - CNN is calling New Jersey for McCain
8:10 - The poor people reporting from the Republican parties. They look so bored. It reminds me back in 1996 when I was interning with the Democratic National Committee in DC. There was booze flowing at the election night party for Clinton. My fellow students who interned with the RNC had to buy their own drinks.
8:00 - McCain won Connecticut and Illinois. Romney won Massachusetts. Obama won Illinois (shock). Hillary will carry Oklahoma.
7:57 - We are about to close polls in 9 states. I imagine they will be calling Illinois eight at 8:00. Oy, I cannot stand Roland Martin on CNN. He's such a smug bastard of a Obama supporter. Seriously, the Clinton supporters never seem to be as close minded as the Obama ones. Now, who is divisive?
7:46 - I am already tired of the talking heads asserting the fact that Hill had a 20 point lead on Obama not too long ago. This has been a fundamentally different race since Iowa, and I think it does a disservice to both the work that Obama has done, and the masterful job that Hill has done to maintain her levels. This was a new race once people started voting. Get the hell over it!
7:44 - Maybe I am naive, but I just can't believe that John McCain and Mike Huckabee are colluding to get McCain the nomination. Sure, McCain could be dangling the option of Huckster as VP, but seriously, that ticket would bite the big one. McCain would lose all of the independents to Obama or Clinton (or both).
7:38 - Blanche just texted me and said that a tornado hit Clinton, Arkansas today. That might be a bad omen...
7:35 - The Repubs are still to close to call, but does anyone really care? Here comes a rare sports analogy. This is kind of like the NFL, where the AFC is stacked with talent and the NFC is a bit lacking. Who here just wants to jettison the GOP and just have a general election between Hill and Barry? (No, I'm not drunk yet...)
7:30 - Just fixed dinner. Turkey, Salmon, and Peas. That's not surf and turf...what is that? Ah well...I will contemplate it over who am I am going to hate more by the end of the night. Lou Dobbs or Pat Buchanan. Though if CNN wheels out Ralph Reed and Bill Bennett, you may witness a slowly getting more drunk FitnessNerd....
7:20 - I switched over to MSNBC, and then CNN. God, I hate Lou Dobbs. Back to MSNBC...
7:00 - Watching NBC, and they just declared Obama winner in Georgia. I realize the exit polls are pretty hard to argue, but how can they really do this without any returns. No shock that he is winning here because of the African-Ameican percentage of the electorate, but he is also trending big with the white vote. This could bode ill for Hillary...at least in the south.
I decided to crack out my slow ass laptop, which hasn't seen the light of day since this time LAST YEAR, and I am going to live blog from my couch. I've never done this before, so bear with me.

Thanx for the update. I've been eating King Cake, drinking cocktails, reliving Mardi Gras past, and celebrating Mardi Gras. We were a bit oblivious to what is happening with Super Tuesday because well, why would you do Super Tuesday on Mardi Gras?
I blame the Catholics for not making Easter a set day every year. :)
If you want to get specific, you can blame Pope Gregory XIII.
Sorry! I gave up Catholicism for Lent in 1985.
