This morning, before I went to work, I witnessed what is possibly the most idiotic pronouncement in Today show history (this side of Tom Cruise and Matt Lauer). If

But I digress... I have not blogged that much about this week because, frankly, I have been in a foul mood, and while I consider navel gazing a key component of this blog, I think you guys probably get tired of me bitching about my job. I know it wears me out. Yesterday, I was in a markedly better mood, which means I actually got some work done. Around 2:15, Romeo texts me "Lets go have a drink." He was apparently downtown already. While I am quite a lush, I cannot say I've ever started drinking this early in the day (a work day anyway). I called him a "Bad Angel," and after a bout of passive aggression from said angel, I succumbed, and decided I had done enough work for the day. So, I told him I wanted to head home and change my clothes, and then I would meet him at Olly's. Since it was a pretty nice day, I rode my bike down there. We commenced drinking at 3. HR met up with us at 4:30. We were still there at 7. A bender had commenced.
I am honestly not sure how many drinks I had because Romeo was paying for everything and it seemed they were never empty. This was only exacerbated by the fact that he knew the bartender. Now, I have had my fair share of strong drinks in my life - particularly from my favorite bartender at Greg's, but these were so strong that our cola of choice had the color of iced tea. We were SLOPPY!
Since it was getting on in the evening, we decided that we would just make a night out of it because Romeo had a couple friends in town who wanted to go out. We tried to talk HR into this, but he was so trashed and had to worked early on Friday, he decided to go home. Lightweight! I got on my bike and rode back to my place, while Romeo started to walk. Once again, the cold air did wonders for my sobriety. Thankfully, that, coupled with my having stopped drinking a while before leaving, meant that I was safe to drive Romeo back to his place to change and get clothes for work.
We headed to the Metro to meet up with his friends, and I had some much needed food. I had the Turkey Wrap, and for once, I have to say it was great! For me, Metro food has been spotty at best, but I loved this. After having a few cocktails and dodging the start of Metro Idol, we piled in my car and headed to Greg's. It was a pretty light crowd, but we continued to drink like champs. Tyler was there with his friend Tiger (I am getting worse and worse at picking blog names, but those who know him will get it...I amuse myself anyway). Anyway, I was kind of flitting back and forth between Romeo and Tyler, and I was probably drunkenly annoying. I think I was keeping it together pretty well for having been drinking since 3:00. At one time, I was standing near Tyler talking to Sebastian (he came with a built in blog name), and we were discussing my blog and how he never appears in it. Well, he has his wish now. I then drunkenly blurted out "Well, this is Tyler!" LOL I tend to shy away from using internet abbreviations, but I really am still laughing out loud about this. I blurted out Tyler's secret identity to Sebastian, who, if he has kept up reading my blog, knows all the gory details about my relationship with him. After I said it, I couldn't even look in Tyler's general direction because I know he was thinking exactly the same thing I was. I felt about two feet tall. I slunk away and met back up with Romeo, and by midnight, a full 10 hours of debauchery ended in a splash of grease from White Castle, which, thankfully, I didn't eat too much.
All in all, it was exactly what my crappy professional week needed. Yes, I am thanking my Bad Angel, but good lord, let's make it a Friday next time!

I'm impressed that you can remember so many details! It sounds like you really needed a cocktail or two and you obviously subscribe to my outlook on mid-afternoon cocktails: It's 5PM somewhere.
Oddly, I am pretty impressed, too. I just read Romeo's blog, and he doesn't remember jack! :)
it's 11:29 am...let's go for drinks!
Hey, I remember Jack. That was what HR was drinking, so there!
There were just a few minute details that I glanced over, but I think we're pretty in synch with the day/evening/night's events, mister.
By the way, Fridays are so '07. We're ahead of the pack. I think in '08, I will deem Thursday the new Friday.
I love riding my bike after a few drinks, but like to fool myself into thinking that I' less of a threat on the road!
Alright, first, that is a bit asinine to save electricity on a chain saw used to cut down a 100 foot christmas tree that will be covered in lights. Second, LOVE the mid-afternoon drinking spree! Hope it's a good start to the weekend for you and a better work week next week!
