Yes, I know I didn't post yesterday, and no, I didn't have a sick day to play Super Mario Galaxy...though it was certainly a good thought. It is an amazing game! I'm having Mom, Blanche, HR, and Romeo over on Friday night for jello shot prep and a game night. So, I'll be intrigued to see what their opinions are of it. There is an interesting two player option that I am intrigued to try.
Last night, Blanche, HR, and I (and eventually Romeo and Mom) met up with Athena and Artemis for Athena's supposedly surprise birthday dinner. I say supposedly because once Athena sets her mind to something, she's hell bent to get it done. So, she decided that she was going to go for drinks and dinner, not knowing that Artemis was working behind the scenes to get us all together as a surprise. I even went so far as to lie by saying that I had a work function that wouldn't allow me to get out until late. Ah well, what is a little deception amongst friends.
We ended up going to a small pub on Mass Ave, which is a place we'd been to a few times over the past year. They have pretty good pub grub food, and I have never had a bad drink there, which is surprising for a mostly straight establishment. We just sat around and talked for a good 4 hours, and we played a weird form of live trivia from a guy who set up an audio system that was extreme overkill for a room about the size of four cubicles. We did okay separately, though I am starting to think my early onset Alzheimer's, which I will refer to as Mad Cow like Denny Craine on Boston Legal, is really starting to effect my mind. Lordy, I do not feel as if my brain is as flexible as it was in my 20s. Must be all the drinking.... For the second round, we opted to pool our resources as a team. As it turned out, we are not equal to the sum of our parts. We did even worse as a team, or maybe the questions were harder...yes, that's it.
Anyway, I am going to wrap this up. I have one more report to finish today, and then I am reportless until December 1st. Woo hoo! Tonight, I need to get to the gym, pick up a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream (who am I kidding, it is going to Caroline's), and bake until my fingers fall off: two cakes, a pie, marshmallows, and maybe brownies. Mario is going to have to save the Galaxy by himself for another night!

What is it about straight places and serving weak and/or improperly mixed drinks? Kudos to you for finding a good one! And I am sooo happy someone else besides myself actually uses the Mad Cow excuse from Boston Legal :-)
Mad Cow!
Straight Bar tenders just do not recognize the art of the heavy poor.
AA is for quiters!
I don't think I've ever had a homemade marshmallow. Will you mail one to me? :-)
