The worst part about long weekends is the feeling that it is a Monday when it is really Tuesday. Obviously, that is not a horrible thing because it also means it is a short week, and when you take into consideration that I'm contemplating taking Thursday afternoon off to go see the Faith Hill/Kelly Clarkson NFL Kickoff Concert and that I am taking Friday off to go visit a friend in Detroit, this is really not that bad of a work week to contend with. :)

Of course, after any extended break, it seems the most problems pop up. A dead hard drive here, a printer crapping out there, or even someone who forgot they turned off their computer on Friday and they thought their computer was dead...UNTIL...I walked over and turned it on. I kid you not on that one...never a dull moment.

Yesterday, I actually got my ass back into the gym, which was great. My trouble lately has not really been the act of working out, it is the actually getting myself to the gym. Once I am there, I love it, but since the weather has been so blazingly hot and really just a general malaise of my mind and body, I just haven't had the energy to get me there. It is frankly pathetic. I know this, and I am doing what I can to remedy it. I even made myself bike the long way around to the gym, which was pretty fun because it took me down the Monon again and around a part of Massachusetts Ave. that I normally don't frequent. This was made more interesting by the fact that I saw the plans for Phase II of the Cultural Trail, which is this giant, mostly privately funded plan to link all of the major cultural districts in the city. Once it is completed, you'll be able to walk or ride all around the city. It is going to be great! The funny thing for me is that Phase II calls for the trail to go directly in front of the Metro, which is where we karaoke on a regular basis, and down the the alley right beside it. It will be kind of odd to think that where we stand in the bar will be on the Cultural Trail. Seems appropriate!

Another point of excitement for me was the discovery of the new trailer for Elizabeth: The Golden Age. HR finally got around to watching the original movie, which, of course, led me to get out the DVD and watch it again. I love that movie, and I am really looking forward to the sequal (though I really do not think of it as a sequal because it is really a continueation of the story...not some weird money grubbing prospect). I am putting the YouTube version of the trailer below, but you may want to watch it on the Apple Quicktime site, the quality is much better.
