I have had a major case of the blahs. I think the big issue with that was having to spend all day with my family on Sunday. While I love them to death, it just gets to be pretty exhausting, especially when I was at my parent's house for 12 hours. I know I sound like an old person, but the weekends just seem to be too short.
Work is also kind of annoying, too, and I am not really sure why. I am finding it hard to be motivated to get the things done that I need to do, and I am even less excited about the reporting that is going to be starting on October 1st. The grant we have applied for as part of my master plan of shifting my duties has come back, and we only got a portion of what we asked for, which means we need to find about $20,000 more to get the entire software package. I really do not think that is what is giving me the blahs, but I suppose job satisfaction is one of those things that really just wears you down eventually. I love the people around here, and while there are some definitive communication issues that I will not go into, I still love the physical place that I work. I am just dreadfully tired of being a glorified accountant, which I have never had ANY ambition to be. Blah Blah Blah!
Anyway, we are fully in swing with the new television season, and I think I will start commenting on the shows I watch. They will not be full fledged reviews, because that would be too lengthy, but it will certainly be something to blog about.
The new Sunday shows that I watch will not premier until next Sunday. So, I will just jump into Monday. This is what I watched last night:
Burn Notice: This is actually the season finally of a show I watched this summer, and I highly encourage anyone who hasn't watched it to watch the reruns before the second season starts next summer. The basics is that Michael is an international spy who gets "burned," which is a fancy way of saying he got fired. Unfortunately, this means he lost everything, and he is now trying to figure out why. I know the explanation doesn't do it justice, but it is really a great show. It takes place in Miami, and the city is really a character ala Miami Vice. The season finale finds Michael finally talking to the guy he thinks burned him, but it really only created more questions. It was a great two hours!
Chuck: This is a new show on NBC about a geek who works in a Best Buy type store as a member of a Geek Squad type service. It seems like he's been surrounded by perfect people all his life, which only makes him seem more awkward and nerdtastic. His old college roommate, who was Mr. Perfect and also stole his girlfriend, ended up being a rogue spy, who sent Chuck an email with all the encripted secrets of the United States...right before dieing. Chuck opens the email, and he ends up .... somehow .. downloading all of the data into his brain. So, he becomes invaluable to the US Government and starts to solve crimes. Yes, it is a leap, and his CIA partner looks way too much like an older Carrie Underwood, but it is a fun show for now. We'll see if I stick with it for the season.
Heroes: This was a GREAT season premier. While it was a bit dense at time, it really needed to be to catch us up and setup the stories for this chapter. All in all, it was great to just be back watching a show I love. I just can't wait for Kristin Bell to start!
Dibs and Dabs: I watched a little of Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor, but I just couldn't bring myself to watch it all. The Cheetah Girl (or was it Cheeto...she looked orange and puffy), who got the highest score, really dances like a drag queen (Hurricane Summers, to be exact). While I really cannot stand the premise of The Bachelor, man oh man, is that dude is HOT. :-) I also found out he has a identical twin brother. Hmm...que the gay porn music!

So you need to get someone to send you some crazy ass e-mail with government secrets in it. That will take care of the blahs. Oh, and perhaps that blonde guy from NCIS can be your partner rather than the Underwood look alike.
